Sunflower honey is produced in the regions of Central Italy. It has a particular scent, light and waxy, which vaguely recalls straw, it appears compact, bright yellow in colour, and its flavor is fresh and fruity.
Uses and combinations
Its particular aromatic notes can enhance strong-flavoured, mature or semi-spicy cheeses, so sunflower honey goes well with Asiago, pecorino or Taleggio.
Beneficial properties
Among the virtues of sunflower honey is that of being anti-neuralgic.
